How Much Should I Practice?

In the beginning a dancer should try to practice a minimum of 15 minutes a day for at least 3 or 4 times a week. A very young beginner may find that challenging to do. Encourage them to “teach” you the steps and you “may need” to see the steps repeated a number of times until “you can get it”. They love showing you new things and they will be learning too! As the dancer progress to higher levels, the time committed to practicing and perfecting will increase. A dancer should practice every day they are not in the studio a minimum of an hour, even if it is a to just review steps, stretch and/or perfect a move. Even if they have to spread the hour out throughout the day.
